Lünen's Innovative App Engages Visitors and Locals
Lünen recently welcomed delegations from partner cities, including a visit on 19 September 2025. The highlight was a city tour using the innovative 'Lünen digital erleben' app, developed by EXCIT3D GmbH. This visit offered new experiences not available before.
The 'WIR in Lünen' team organised tours of the new city library and museum garden. Mayor Jürgen Kleine-Frauns expressed hope that the app engages both tourists and Lüneners with their city's history. The app provides information about sights and history of Lünen via smartphone, with themes like art and 'Big Beautiful Buildings', and can be experienced digitally off-site.
Delegations also visited Dortmund and saw the stadium of Borussia Dortmund.
