Hiking trail along enchanting nature - Mallorca Unveils Stunning 105-Kilometre Coastal Hiking Trail in Llevant

Mallorca has opened a new long-distance hiking trail along its northeastern coast. The GR-226, launched in February 2026, stretches 100 kilometres through the scenic Llevant region. With two extra feeder routes, the full network now covers nearly 105 kilometres of varied landscapes.

The trail is split into four main stages, each designed for a single day's walk. Every section spans between 22.5 and 25 kilometres, taking roughly six hours to complete. The path winds through five municipalities: Capdepera, Artà, Son Servera, Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, and Manacor.

Hikers can expect a mix of coastal views, rolling fields, and historic sites. Along the way, the route passes beaches, old churches, and ancient fortresses. The trail's low difficulty and safety features make it suitable for walkers of all experience levels. Two additional feeder trails extend the main route. One starts in Son Macià, the other in Costa dels Pins. Together, they add nearly 11 kilometres to the total distance, bringing it close to 105 kilometres.

The GR-226 offers a structured yet flexible hiking experience. Its four stages and extra routes allow walkers to explore Mallorca's northeastern landscapes at their own pace. The trail's design ensures accessibility while showcasing the island's natural and cultural highlights.
