New Landshut cycling guide debuts with 29 scenic routes at 2026 fair

A new cycling guide for the Landshut region will launch at the Environmental Fair in March 2026. The brochure offers 29 varied routes, including scenic long-distance trails and shorter after-work rides. It was developed by the Landshut District Authority together with the city of Landshut as part of the Region Landshut initiative.

The guide's centrepiece is the 240-kilometre NiederbayernTOUR, split into seven stages. Each route features points of interest, from rest stops to local museums, with historical details available via the Time Machine app. Cyclists can also explore shorter options, starting at 14 kilometres, for a more relaxed experience.

A printed map and brief descriptions accompany every route. Extra information is accessible through QR codes or the website erleben.landshut.de. The guide itself will be free at the Region Landshut booth (H009) during the Environmental Fair from March 13–15, 2026. After the fair, copies will remain available at Landshut city and district tourism offices, or online. The project also benefits from a partnership with Südostbayernbahn, allowing bikes to travel free on trains along the route thanks to funding from local districts.

The new guide expands cycling options in and around Landshut. Free train transport for bikes and digital tools like QR codes make the routes more accessible. The brochure will be distributed at the Environmental Fair before wider release in tourism offices and online.
