Nizhny Novgorod Launches €1M Grants for Unity-Themed Cultural Projects

The Nizhny Novgorod Region has opened applications for its fifth annual Creative Practices Team grant program. This year's special funding round, round 1, offers up to 1 million rubles for projects that promote national unity and interethnic harmony.

The initiative, backed by the regional budget, aims to support creative professionals, cultural institutions, and businesses in the arts.

The 2026 special round runs from February 16 to March 1, with a focus on the theme Unity of Russia's Peoples. Projects that strengthen civic identity and cultural cohesion will receive priority. The maximum grant for this round is set at 1 million rubles.

Beyond the special round, the program includes two main funding cycles. These support a wide range of creative fields, including gastronomy, fashion, crafts, visual arts, performing arts, and film. Legal entities and sole proprietors registered in the region for at least three years can apply for grants of up to 2 million rubles. Nonprofits operating for over a year may receive up to 2 million rubles, while commercial companies with one year of activity are eligible for up to 500,000 rubles.

Emerging creative professionals can also access funding, with grants of up to 200,000 rubles available. The program, managed by Center 800 since 2022, welcomes applications from established cultural institutions, creative collectives, and individual practitioners across the region.

The Creative Practices Team program continues to expand opportunities for artists, businesses, and cultural organisations in Nizhny Novgorod. With funding rounds tailored to different experience levels and project types, the initiative reinforces the region's commitment to creative and social development. Applications for the special round close on March 1.
