Paris to Brussels for $10: New OUIGO train slashes travel costs
Travelling between Paris and Brussels just got far more affordable. A new direct train line now offers tickets from just $10, making the journey cheaper than a breakfast in central Paris. The service, operated by OUIGO Train Classique, connects two of Europe's most popular cities at a fraction of the usual cost.
The new route takes over three hours, with stops in Creil, Aulnoye-Aymeries, and Mons. Three trains run daily in each direction, providing flexible options for travellers. Most fares remain budget-friendly, with even the most expensive tickets capped at $36.
Brussels itself is packed with attractions for visitors. The medieval Grand Place and St. Michael & St. Gudula Cathedral draw crowds for their stunning architecture. For something quirkier, the Pissing Boy Statue (Manneken Pis) and its lesser-known counterpart, the Secret Pissing Girl (Jeanneke Pis), add a touch of local humour. Food lovers can sample the city's famous fries at Friterie de la Barrière or explore its chocolate-making heritage at Choco-Story Brussels. Budget-conscious travellers also have good accommodation choices. Hôtel Aqua by HappyCulture offers rooms from $80 and sits just a 20-minute walk from Grand Place. The launch of this line follows a broader trend in Europe. Over the past five years, low-cost long-distance trains like OUIGO have linked France directly with five countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and Italy.
The new OUIGO service makes Brussels more accessible than ever for Parisian travellers. With fares starting at $10 and multiple daily departures, the route offers a simple, low-cost way to explore the Belgian capital. The move also reflects Europe's growing network of affordable rail connections, making cross-border trips easier for budget-conscious passengers.
