Public Transportation Service Announces Route Extension: Minsk to Sochi
Starting on May 21, ticket sales for an expedited bus route from Minsk to Sochi will commence, marking a potential 10-hour travel time advantage over trains. The bus tour is slated to begin operating from Minsk on June 26 and Sochi on June 28, with subsequent journeys taking place every 4 days.
The bus departs from the Bobruiskaya bus station in Minsk at 19:30, making stops in Bryansk, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Djubga, Lermontovo, Novomikhaylovskoye, Olginka, Tuapse, Lazarevskoye, Adler, and the Psou border crossing, before reaching Vinogradnaya Street, 272 in Sochi. An advantageous aspect of this route is the possible access to Abkhazia.
Buses have previously connected Moscow and Novorossiysk, offering another mode of transport between cities. The travel duration for this route will be 34 hours, with adult tickets costing 362.25 Belarusian rubles (approximately 9,628 rubles at the May 29, 2025 exchange rate) and child's tickets (aged 12 and under) costing 253.58 Belarusian rubles (approximately 6,740 rubles).
A return trip to Minsk will depart from Sochi at 22:20, lasting the same duration and carrying a corresponding price. This route also allows for travel to Abkhazia, with stops at Adler and the "Psou" border crossing on the Russian-Abkhazian border.
Equipped with air conditioning, individual USB sockets, and Wi-Fi, the transport promises a comfortable journey. As an alternative, travelers can opt for trains in the directions "Minsk - Adler" and "Kaliningrad - Adler," taking 48 hours (12 hours longer than the bus). The minimum cost for train tickets in a 4-berth compartment starts at 10,187 rubles.
Passengers may also choose air travel with "Belavia" from the Minsk airport, with flights available every three days and a travel time of 4 hours and 20 minutes starting at 19,642 rubles.
As of May 1, 2025, electric trains have reportedly begun operating between Sochi and Abkhazia (Yuga.ru).
