Sachida Nagdev's Artistic Journey Honored in Bhopal Exhibition

An exhibition honouring the late artist Sachida Nagdev, 'Sachida Nagdev Rang Smriti: 9', has opened at Gauranjini Art Gallery in Bhopal. The five-day event, which began on Saturday, celebrates the principles of Guru Shishya Parampara and showcases over 100 of Nagdev's artworks. The exhibition, curated by Smita, Nagdev's daughter, includes a diverse range of his paintings. Visitors can explore romantic tales of Radha Krishna, abstract art, sketches, and Kumar Sambhavam, among others. The collection spans decades, featuring rare pieces from the 1950s to the 1990s. A unique aspect of the exhibition is the display of photographs capturing Nagdev with his guru, archaeologist Dr Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar. These images offer a glimpse into their exploration of rock paintings in the forests. Additionally, the exhibition highlights Nagdev's love for Madhya Pradesh, with paintings of major tourist spots like Mandu and Khajuraho. The 'Sachida Nagdev Rang Smriti: 9' exhibition provides a comprehensive look into the life and work of the late artist. Through his paintings and photographs, visitors can appreciate Nagdev's artistic journey and his connection to his guru and his state.
