Sankt Andreasberg’s Winter Festival Returns with Five Days of Magic and Adventure

Sankt Andreasberg’s annual Winter Festival returns this weekend with five days of activities for all ages. The event kicks off on Friday and runs until Tuesday, offering everything from sports and storytelling to live music and market stalls. Organisers have planned a mix of traditional and unique winter entertainment across the town.

The festival begins at 1:00 PM on Friday, with the official opening ceremony at 6:00 PM in the Kurhaus. Visitors can explore a winter-themed exhibition and browse market stalls set up around the spa house.

Saturday’s schedule is packed with sports and spectacle. A biathlon demonstration, Pack Sledding on the Tarp, and a team laser biathlon will take place throughout the day. The main attraction is the Winter Festival Parade at 2:00 PM, starting from the Old Train Station and finishing at the Kurhaus. On Sunday, a guided Witchlight hike offers a mystical twist—participants must register in advance, with tickets priced at €7 for adults and €5 for children aged two and older. The day also includes live music, though full details of the concert remain limited. Monday brings family-friendly fun with a puppet show and medieval games, while market stalls stay open for browsing. The festival winds down on Tuesday with a final chance to visit the stalls and enjoy warm drinks before closing. Throughout the event, visitors can try skiing, sledding, and fairy-tale storytelling. The Winter Carriage Drivers’ Rally will also add to the festive atmosphere near the Kurhaus.

The festival runs from Friday afternoon until Tuesday evening, offering a mix of outdoor adventures, cultural performances, and seasonal treats. Market stalls, sports demos, and guided activities ensure there’s something for everyone in Sankt Andreasberg this winter.
