Singita Unveils Its First Okavango Delta Lodge for 2026 Conservation Mission
Singita, a leading conservation and ecotourism brand, is expanding into Botswana with its first lodge in the Okavango Delta. Named Singita Elela, the new property will open on December 11, 2026, offering guests an immersive experience in one of Africa’s most pristine wilderness areas. The lodge marks the company’s latest effort to protect and preserve the continent’s natural landscapes through sustainable tourism.
The lodge will sit within the 175,000-hectare NG26 concession, a private and ecologically rich stretch of the Delta. This vast area ensures exclusive access to unspoiled landscapes and wildlife. Singita Elela will feature eight stilted camps, each designed with one to four bedrooms, allowing the seasonal waters to flow freely beneath them.
Each camp will have its own dedicated team, including a safari guide, tracker, and host. The design aims to create a sense of openness, with structures blending seamlessly into the surroundings. Guests will have the freedom to explore the Delta at their own pace, supported by Singita’s focus on personalized experiences. Jo Bailes, chief executive of Singita, has spoken about the brand’s long-standing desire to establish a presence in Botswana. The company, which already operates lodges in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and Rwanda, sees this expansion as a meaningful step in its conservation mission. Singita’s model combines ecotourism with active efforts to safeguard Africa’s wilderness for future generations.
Singita Elela will open as the group’s first property in the Okavango Delta. The lodge’s design and location reflect a commitment to sustainability and minimal environmental impact. With its December 2026 launch, the project reinforces Singita’s role in conservation while offering guests a unique way to connect with Botswana’s natural beauty.
