Michelin Guide Awards 'Keys' for Best Hotels in the Country - Six German Hotels Earn Top Michelin Three Keys Rating
The Michelin Guide has honoured six German hotels with its top rating of three Keys, marking a significant achievement in the country's hospitality scene. This year's recipients join a list of over 7000 hotels worldwide recognised by the prestigious guide.
The six hotels, awarded for their exceptional standards across five categories - architecture, service, personality, price-performance, and local culture - are Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and The Fontenay in Hamburg, Schloss Elmau Luxury Spa Retreat & Cultural Hideaway in Elmau, Bavaria, Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt in Rottach-Egern, Bavaria, and Hotel Traube Tonbach and Hotel Bareiss in Baiersbronn, Baden-Württemberg. This is the first time these hotels have received the highest rating, reflecting the guide's commitment to discovering and recognising new excellence.
Last year, the guide added twelve new hotels to its list, demonstrating its continuous effort to explore and evaluate the global hospitality landscape. Since its inception in 1900 as a map for gas stations and repair shops, the Michelin Guide has evolved into a respected authority on fine dining and luxury accommodation.
With six hotels earning three Keys, Germany now boasts a total of 40 Michelin-starred hotels, including 34 with two Keys and 90 with one Key. The Michelin Guide's recognition not only celebrates these hotels' exceptional standards but also highlights Germany's vibrant and diverse hospitality scene.
