Social Activities and Beyond 2025 - Diverse Initiatives by the Evangelical Youth to Combat Solitude
In an effort to combat youth loneliness, the Youth Department of the Evangelical Church Circle Solingen has released a revised and expanded leisure guide titled "Leisure & More 2025". This comprehensive brochure offers a variety of leisure activities, including annual highlights such as the German Evangelical Church Congress and the Taizé trip.
The "Leisure & More 2025" brochure is now available for pickup in various locations, including evangelical youth centers, churches, community houses, and the Evangelical Administration House, Cologne Street 17. For those who prefer a digital copy, it can also be downloaded from a specific website.
The guide outlines various leisure activities, excursions, holiday camps, and vacation trips aimed at children and youth, both locally and internationally. These offerings often include local day trips and excursions in and around Solingen and nearby cities, such as Cologne, with cultural, educational, and recreational activities. Multi-day trips and holiday camps within Germany focusing on nature, sports, creativity, and adventure are also included.
Moreover, the guide features international youth and children's trips to popular destinations in Europe, offering cultural exchange, outdoor adventures, and group activities. For instance, in 2025, there are planned leisure trips abroad to the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and France.
The guide includes children's groups, Bible days, special services, choirs, music activities, youth cafes, parties, action days, training courses, and important contact addresses. One such contact is Youth Worker Claudia Wahl, who can be reached at Tel. 0212/287-249 or via email at [email protected] for inquiries about the brochure.
The new edition also focuses on leisure activities and special events, such as the quiet Taizé evening, active vacations, and cycling trips. In April, living in several communities is possible, and young people can participate in the "Living Week" in March, where they move into a community house and shape the daily life together for a week.
Another exciting event in April is the "Home to go" event, particularly interesting for musically inclined young people, as they prepare the music for the ecumenical youth Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. In the autumn holidays, a trip to Taizé is planned, where around 200,000 young people gather each year to experience spiritual growth in the ecumenical community of the Brothers of Taizé and meet people from around the world.
Many youth centers in Solingen have the 'Fair Youth Center' certificate with interesting projects to participate in or design. For precise details on the 2025 program, such as exact dates, destinations, types of activities, age groups, and registration information, one usually needs to refer directly to the official "Leisure & More 2025" brochure published by the Solingen youth services or city administration.
