Stephens Waring Design Unveils Immerst: Modular Homes for Land, Sea, and Canopy
Stephens Waring Design, a U.S. studio with over three decades of experience in sustainable yacht design, has launched a new line of modern 'homes for sale' called Immerst. These innovative dwellings are designed for land, sea, or 'forest canopy' environments, aiming to immerse owners in surrounding landscapes while minimizing environmental impact.
The Immerst concept, developed by Danish architect Kristian Kjær, focuses on mobile, modular, and sustainable living solutions. Initial designs include the Alpine Jewel, a 350 sq ft cliff house, and the Canopy, a 420 sq ft treetop 'eyrie'. Each home is built with eco-friendly materials like cross-laminated timber, marine-grade stainless steel, glass, and advanced composites.
Integrated systems manage light, heat, water, and drainage, ensuring comfort even in 'off-grid' settings. Stephens Waring Design has also applied its Ocean Architecture System (OASys) to create 'floating homes', further demonstrating its commitment to minimal environmental impact. The modular design allows for easy expansion, enabling the creation of larger developments with multiple 'houses'.
The first Immerst projects are already underway in the U.S. More information about this innovative concept can be found on the Stephens Waring Design website. By combining sustainable design principles with modularity and adaptability, Immerst 'homes for sale' offer a unique and flexible living solution for various environments.
