Swedish Teens Arrive in Greifswald for Cultural Exchange

Fifteen Swedish teenagers and two teachers from Polhemskolan in Lund arrived in Greifswald today, marking the start of a week-long exchange program with students from Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Gymnasium. The visitors were warmly welcomed at the town hall, kicking off their cultural immersion in Germany.

The Swedish students will spend their time in Greifswald living with host families, offering them a unique insight into daily German life. Their itinerary is packed with excursions to explore the region's history and culture. They will cycle to Wieck and visit the ancient ruins of Eldena monastery. A train ride to Berlin awaits, along with a day trip to the scenic Usedom Island. This exchange program, which has been running since 2001, will see the tables turned in early October when Greifswald students visit Lund. They will hike through the beautiful Söderåsen nature reserve and explore the vibrant city of Malmö.

The exchange program between Polhemskolan in Lund and Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Gymnasium in Greifswald continues to foster cultural understanding and friendship. Both sets of students are eager to learn from each other, creating lasting memories and connections.
