Tbilisi Debuts First Ibero-American Literary Festival in May 2024

Tbilisi will host its first Ibero-American Literary Festival from May 11 to 15. The event will gather writers, translators, and publishers from Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, and Peru for five days of discussions and cultural exchange. The festival's programme includes meetings with Spanish-speaking authors, presentations of new translations, and talks on literary genres. Challenges in translation will also be explored during these sessions.

A multidisciplinary approach adds variety to the schedule. Attendees can enjoy a film screening, a performance by the Spanish National Classical Theater, and a memorial evening dedicated to literary figures. Organisers hope the event will foster intercultural dialogue. By bringing together voices from different countries, the festival aims to strengthen connections between authors and creative professionals in the region.

The festival runs from May 11 to 15 in Tbilisi. It offers a mix of literary discussions, performances, and networking opportunities. The event marks the first time such a gathering has taken place in the city.
