Thuringian Specialties in Demand at the Green Week - Thüringen shines at Berlin’s Green Week with record-breaking culinary success
Thüringen made a strong impression at Berliner Green Week 2023 with its largest-ever joint stand. The region showcased its culinary specialties alongside rural tourism offerings. Over 350,000 visitors attended the event, which featured 1,600 exhibitors from 50 countries.
Thüringen’s presence at the fair included 74 exhibitors under a shared pavilion. Many ran out of stock quickly and had to restock during the event. Demand was high for local products like bratwurst, with 29,000 sold, along with five tons of sausage and 15,300 litres of beverages.
The region positioned itself as a leader in sustainable agriculture and premium food. Its exhibitors also highlighted rural tourism, pairing gastronomy with travel opportunities. Organisers later declared Thüringen’s participation a success, noting strong visitor engagement.
No specific Thüringen-based companies were named among the most visited at the fair. However, the region’s joint stand drew significant attention. The event reinforced Thüringen’s reputation for quality food, sustainable farming, and rural tourism.
