Train passengers can now order food at over 130 stations through Zomato's food delivery service.
In a groundbreaking move, MakeMyTrip, one of India's leading travel platforms, has partnered with Zomato, the popular food delivery service, to introduce the Food on Train Marketplace. This innovative service aims to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers by offering direct food delivery to train seats.
With this collaboration, train passengers in India can now order meals from over 40,000 restaurants through MakeMyTrip and Zomato. The service is IRCTC-approved, ensuring that food arrives reliably at the train coach.
Raj Rishi Singh, the Chief Business Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at MakeMyTrip, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating that it is another step in enhancing the travel experience. He further added that the Food on Train Marketplace gives passengers greater choice and convenience.
The on-train food delivery service allows passengers to plan meals according to their schedule and enjoy freshly prepared food without leaving the train. The service covers a wide range of cuisines and price points, catering to every traveler's taste and budget.
Passengers can pre-order breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks for delivery directly to their seats, up to seven days in advance using their PNR details. The Live Train Status tool provided by MakeMyTrip helps travellers place orders at the most convenient times.

Since becoming an authorized IRCTC partner for on-train food delivery, Zomato has served over 4.6 million orders across 130+ stations. The food delivery service is available at more than 130 train stations across India.
The collaboration between MakeMyTrip and Zomato is aimed at strategically unlocking one of the fastest-growing consumption opportunities in India's mobility ecosystem. In FY 2024-25, more than 90,000 rail passengers used Indian Railways' e-catering services every day, marking a 66% year-on-year increase.
Travellers can also benefit from complementary features such as route assistance, seat availability forecasts, and live PNR updates. The Food on Train Marketplace service is expected to contribute to the growing demand for on-train food delivery in India.
