Trenitalia is introducing a festive train service, the 'Espresso Monaco: Edizione Mercatini di Natale', connecting Rome and Munich for Christmas market enthusiasts. The overnight journey will depart Rome on December 5 and 12, offering a unique way to experience the holiday season.
The special train will depart Rome at 7:57 p.m., stopping in Bolzano, Innsbruck, and Kufstein before arriving in Munich at 1:00 p.m. the next day. Passengers can look forward to a Christmassy atmosphere on board, with the train's interior adorned with festive decorations, seasonal music, and a special menu in the dining car. Each passenger will also receive a small gift upon boarding.
The return trips are scheduled for December 7 and 14, departing Munich at 1:40 p.m. and arriving back in Rome at 6:33 a.m. the following morning. Despite queries about the organizer of this unique service, Trenitalia has not provided further details.
