UAE Schools Compete to Celebrate Emirati Heritage in New Contest

A new nationwide competition for public schools has been launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE). Titled 'My School... My Identity', the initiative encourages students to celebrate Emirati heritage while fostering creativity and teamwork. Over 800 schools across the UAE are expected to take part, with strong participation from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. The competition invites schools to transform their learning spaces into vibrant showcases of Emirati culture. Entries will be accepted from January 20 to March 28, 2025. Judges will assess submissions based on creativity, cultural reflection, teamwork, and alignment with educational objectives.

A panel of experts, including Emirati artists and MoE specialists, will evaluate the projects. The top 10 schools will receive cash prizes, with AED100,000 for first place, AED70,000 for second, and AED50,000 for third. Schools ranking fourth to tenth will each earn AED25,000. Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, highlighted the initiative's role in making schools more engaging. The competition also aims to improve student well-being by promoting collaboration and cultural pride.

The 'My School... My Identity' competition offers schools a chance to win funding while celebrating Emirati traditions. With submissions opening in January, participants will have nearly three months to develop their projects. The MoE expects the initiative to leave a lasting impact on school environments and student experiences.
