University's Welcome Week Filled With Musical Performances and Unadulterated Happiness

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is gearing up for its annual Welcome Week, set to take place from August (specific dates not yet available). This event-filled week is designed to welcome new students, as well as returning ones, to the university community, focusing on community building, orientation, and various student activities.

Highlights of the Week

The week kicks off with Cabanarama on Monday night, where the Canyon Activities Board brings its event to Prescott Field. For the first time, live musical performances from students will be featured.

Friday night's Lope-A-Palooza introduces students to the pep-rally wildness of the Global Credit Union Arena, led by Spirit Programs. A new event, Student Leadership at GCU, introduces new students to the value of getting involved in campus leadership.

Entertainment and Activities

The week is filled with entertainment to keep students on campus and connect with one another. Events include intramural sports, dance classes, open houses, socials, financial seminars, and a lot of dancing with clubs such as American Kids, the Hip Hop Club, and the Student Dance Organization getting in the groove.

GCU Clubs continue to increase their Welcome Week involvement, with a total of 105 events scheduled for the week. A big Club and Community Fair brings it all together in the Canyon Activity Center on Friday.

Orientation and Information Sessions

New student and family orientation, as well as parent and family orientation, will take place throughout the week. Daily financial seminars will be held by Global Credit Union.
