Vancouver Airport Returns to Global Top 10 After a Decade
Vancouver International Airport has re-entered the global top 10 airports for the first time since 2014. The airport ranked 10th in Skytrax's 2026 World Airport Survey, making it the only Canadian airport in this elite group. The annual ranking reflects feedback from over 13 million passengers worldwide.
Skytrax assessed more than 500 airports based on passenger experiences, including immigration efficiency, terminal comfort, staff service, and check-in processes. Vancouver stood out as Canada's second busiest airport, trailing only Toronto Pearson, while connecting British Columbia to over 110 global destinations.
The survey also highlighted strong performances from Asian airports, with five—Singapore Changi, Incheon, Tokyo Haneda, Hong Kong, and Narita—dominating the top five spots. Within North America, Vancouver took first place, followed by Montreal in seventh and Toronto Pearson in tenth. In total, three Canadian airports secured positions in the top 100, reinforcing the country's presence in global aviation rankings. Vancouver's return to the top 10 marks a significant achievement, as no other Canadian airport has reached this level since the same airport did so a decade ago.
The recognition places Vancouver International Airport among the world's leading aviation hubs. Its high ranking reflects improvements in passenger satisfaction and operational quality. The airport's performance also strengthens Canada's reputation in global air travel.
