Vietnam is seeing a sharp rise in family travel interest for the end-of-year season. New data from Agoda shows a 30% increase in searches compared to the same period last year. Families across Asia and beyond are now looking to the country for its mix of culture, scenery and child-friendly attractions.

The biggest surge comes from India, where searches jumped by 186%. Malaysian families also showed strong interest, with a 74% rise in travel queries.

South Koreans lead the demand for December and January trips, followed by travellers from India, Singapore, Australia and Malaysia. The data highlights five key destinations drawing the most attention from families.

Phu Quoc Island tops the list, with searches up by 47%. Known for its white-sand beaches and luxury resorts, the island appeals to families seeking relaxation and water-based activities. Da Nang ranks second, seeing a 42% increase in interest. Its long coastline, gentle adventure options and proximity to Ba Na Hills theme park make it a favourite. The city’s blend of beach time and entertainment suits families with children of all ages. Nha Trang takes third place, attracting visitors with its extended shoreline and island excursions. Family-oriented resorts and water sports add to its appeal for group travellers. Ha Noi remains a steady draw, completing the top five. The capital’s cultural sites, museums and festive winter atmosphere provide a different kind of holiday experience. Families often combine city exploration with short trips to nearby attractions. Agoda’s findings suggest Vietnam’s mix of natural beauty, rich heritage and well-developed tourism infrastructure is driving the growth. The variety of destinations—from beach getaways to urban adventures—lets families tailor trips to their preferences.

The rise in searches points to Vietnam’s growing reputation as a year-end family destination. With significant increases from markets like India and Malaysia, the country is drawing a more diverse group of visitors. Resorts, cultural sites and outdoor activities continue to expand, supporting the upward trend in family travel.
