Vietnamese-Indian Film Love Garden Wins Top Honor at Haryana Festival
The Indian-Vietnamese film Vườn Tình Yêu - Prem Ki Surdhara (Love Garden) has won Best International Film at the 8th Haryana International Film Festival. Held in H Nội, the festival showcased works from 38 countries in 26 languages. The award highlights the film's unique blend of Vietnamese folk traditions and cross-cultural storytelling. The film draws inspiration from quan họ, a traditional Vietnamese folk singing style. Artist Chu Bảo Quế, a leading figure in preserving quan họ, served as a consultant and also appears in the movie. His involvement ensured the music's authenticity and cultural depth.
Unlike typical love stories, *Love Garden* explores a humanistic connection to heritage. Producer Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, editor-in-chief of the India Records Organisation, oversaw the project. He hopes the film will encourage more international collaborations in cinema. The festival jury praised the film for its creative vision and celebration of global diversity. Around 80 films competed, but *Love Garden* stood out for its artistic brilliance and cultural fusion.
Chu Bảo Quế expressed pride in the film's recognition, noting its role in promoting Vietnamese and Indian cultures. The award marks a milestone for cross-cultural storytelling, though no further screenings have been announced. The project remains a testament to the power of international artistic cooperation.
