Vogue Names Kazakhstan a Must-Visit Destination for 2025

Kazakhstan, the country, has been named one of the world’s top travel destinations for 2025 by Vogue magazine. The country earned its spot for its striking mix of natural beauty, rich traditions, and vibrant city life. Three of the magazine’s editors visited last year to explore its unique appeal firsthand.

In September 2023, Vogue editors Eva Chen, Virgie Vandepol, and Chloe Malle travelled to Kazakhstan on a press trip organised by Kazakh Tourism. Their visit highlighted the country’s diverse attractions, from sweeping landscapes to bustling urban centres.

Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, became a focal point of their report. The editors described it as a place of contrasts, where Soviet-era boulevards stand alongside modern cafés and traditional Kazakh shops. Local food also left a strong impression, with beshbarmak—a classic dish of boiled meat and noodles—singled out as a must-try. Beyond Almaty, the team explored Kazakhstan’s wider cultural and natural offerings. The blend of old and new, from historic customs to contemporary city life, helped secure its place among Vogue’s 14 best destinations for next year.

The recognition from Vogue puts Kazakhstan in the global spotlight as a rising travel hotspot. Its mix of scenic landscapes, authentic cuisine, and dynamic cities has drawn attention from international visitors. The country is now set to welcome more tourists in 2025.
