Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2026 reveals 24 breathtaking shortlisted images
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year People's Choice Award 2026 has unveiled its 24 shortlisted images. Chosen from over 60,000 entries across 113 countries, the selection highlights striking wildlife moments and powerful stories. Voting is now open to decide the winner and runners-up.
This year's shortlist features a diverse range of scenes. Among them is a mountain of snares used to trap wildlife in Uganda, exposing the harsh reality of poaching. Another image captures a pangolin orphaned by poachers, now being comforted at a South African rescue centre.
Other standout entries include a flamboyance of flamingos in their natural habitat, a crab perched on a jellyfish, and a sloth clinging to its mother. Each photograph offers a glimpse into the beauty and challenges of the natural world.
The public can vote online or at the Natural History Museum. The winner, along with four runners-up, will be announced on March 25, following the global vote.
The 24 shortlisted images reflect both the wonder and fragility of wildlife. The winning photograph will be selected entirely by public choice. Results will be revealed in late March, showcasing the most compelling image as decided by voters.
