Wine enthusiasts gather for a week-long Rhine celebration
Rheingau Wine Week 2025: A Celebration of Wine and Culture
Get ready for the 48th edition of the Rheingau Wine Week, a vibrant and lively event that takes over the city of Wiesbaden. From the 9th to the 17th of August, the city center will be transformed into a sea of people, with 119 stands showcasing the finest wines from the region and beyond.
The festivities kick off with a bang, as Latin American beats fill the air, Riesling tastings take center stage, and an exuberant atmosphere greets visitors in front of the Town Hall. The wine stands, located at various places in the city center, will be open from 11 am to 11 pm on Sundays to Thursdays, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
For those who need a break, toilet facilities are conveniently located at several spots: between the Market Church, Town Hall, and Restaurant Lumen, between the Market Church and the kindergarten, and at Market Street/Corner Friedrich Street. Sanitation services are also available at these locations during the wine week.
If you're planning to visit with children, worry not! Childcare is available on Saturdays and Sundays, with costs varying depending on the day and number of children. On Sundays, painting, craft, and play activities are free, thanks to WICM support.
For a refreshing stop, a water supply station by ESWE offers regional drinking water. And for a souvenir to remember your visit, an exclusive wine glass featuring a motif of the Museum Wiesbaden, which will celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2025, is available at specific stands and the tourist information.
Taxis are readily available at their regular stopping place in Friedrich Street during the day and at a taxi stand on Wilhelm Street in the evenings. For a comfortable and eco-friendly arrival and departure, ESWE Traffic offers a Wine Festival Event Ticket.
This year, the Rheingau Wine Week welcomes new participants such as Weingut Moii from Geisenheim and Weingut Preis from Hochheim, as well as a wine stand in partnership with Kamjanez-Podilskyj from Ukraine, participating for the first time. Several winemakers from the region around the Ukrainian partner city will also be presenting their wines.
The event wouldn't be complete without a little friendly competition. At Stand 50, an unofficial wine battle transforms into a stage for celebrities, puns, and percentages. Otto Barth Junior defended his title in the previous year.
For all the latest news from the city center, visit the Wiesbaden city website. Two guarded bicycle lockers are also available at the Market Church and the Prince's Garden during the wine week. And if you're feeling lucky, a Lotto Hessen sales stand is located near the water station.
The Rheingau Wine Week ticket serves as a fare card and also as a voucher for a glass of wine at selected winemakers. So, come and join the festivities, taste some exceptional wines, and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Rheingau Wine Week 2025!
Engage in the lively atmosphere of the Rheingau Wine Week 2025, where you can explore fashion-and-beauty trends at various stands along with tasting food-and-drink offerings.
