World Champion Tomasz Max Kuczyński Reflects on the World Cup Floral Art 2025

Tomasz 'Max' Kuczyński has won the 2025 World Cup of Floral Art in The Hague, Netherlands. His victory came after a gruelling competition that tested skill, creativity, and endurance under pressure. Unlike many in his field, Max did not grow up surrounded by flowers or inherit a family business—his success was shaped by doubt, hard work, and relentless self-belief.

The World Cup Floral Art competition took place in February 2025, drawing 23 designers from around the globe. Held in Aalsmeer, the event demanded precision, with six challenging assignments completed under strict time limits. An international jury judged each piece, raising the stakes for every participant.

Max approached the competition with a simple strategy: clarity over perfection. Instead of chasing flawless results, he focused on making one deliberate decision at a time. His journey to the top was anything but smooth, marked by uncertainty and self-questioning rather than natural talent or early exposure. Alongside Max, Jeroen van de Wiel, Decorum’s Key Account Manager and a Dutch floral designer, also competed in the event. Decorum Plants & Flowers, known for its premium quality and sustainable practices, provided the materials that allowed designers to craft living artworks. Their plants, grown with expertise and innovation, gave florists the tools to surprise and inspire clients with unique creations. Reflecting on his win, Max spoke with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility to the craft. He acknowledged the support of fellow competitors, who shared a spirit of professionalism and respect throughout the event.

Max’s victory highlights the power of persistence and self-driven growth in a field often tied to tradition. His approach—prioritising focus and incremental choices—set him apart in a high-pressure environment. The competition also showcased the role of quality suppliers like Decorum, whose sustainable and innovative plants help turn floral design into dynamic, living art.
