WWII Medical Exhibition Wins Russia’s Top Regional Culture Award for 2025

A major exhibition in Yekaterinburg has been recognised as the best regional project of 2025 by the Znanie Society. Titled To Save and Return: The Medical Front of the Great Victory, it was unveiled at the Russia—My History: Sverdlovsk Region Multimedia History Park. The park has grown into a key cultural destination for locals and tourists alike.

The exhibition explores the role of military medicine during the Second World War. Its success led to the creation of an educational quest, Saving Lives: Lessons from Military Medicine. This interactive programme was designed to engage students with historical medical practices.

The quest has now been made available nationwide. Teachers across Russia can access it through UROK.RF, the country’s largest educational platform. While the project earned top honours from Znanie, the name of its lead organiser remains undisclosed in public records.

The initiative combines history and education, reaching classrooms through a widely used digital platform. The recognition from Znanie highlights its impact on regional culture and learning. The materials remain freely accessible to educators as part of the national curriculum.
