The route, initially operated by a Tu-154 aircraft in 2005, has since become a vital 'air bridge' between Yakutia and Heilongjiang, fostering friendly relations and facilitating travel for various purposes.
The Yakutsk - Harbin route offers twice-weekly flights, operated by the modern Sukhoi Superjet 100, accommodating up to 103 passengers. The ticket price includes hot meals, with optional Yakutian dishes available. Prices start at 25,000 rubles for one-way travel without baggage for longer trips, and round-trip fares for shorter trips range from 31,000 to 36,000 rubles (approximately 340 to 380 euros).

The visa-free regime for Russian citizens visiting China simplifies travel, requiring only a passport and an airline ticket. NordStar Airlines, which has successfully operated the route for 20 years, plans to increase flight frequency, including introducing a third weekly flight.
In 2024, 10,687 passengers used Yakutia Airlines' services on this route, and by the end of the first nine months of 2025, 8,561 passengers had already traveled.
