Águilas in Murcia Named Europe's Best Destination for Boat Trips

Aguilas in Murcia has been crowned Europe’s top destination for boat trips. The coastal town outranked well-known spots like Mallorca and the Costa del Sol. Travel agency CV Villas based its decision on wind conditions, water temperature, sunshine and boat availability. The award highlights Aguilas’ mix of natural beauty and cultural charm. Its fishing port culture and easy access to the Mediterranean have long drawn visitors. Poniente Beach, with its white sand and clear blue waters, is a standout attraction.

The town’s history adds to its appeal. The 16th-century Castle of San Juan de las Aguilas carries stories of the past, while Las Delicias Beach offers views of both the castle and the nearby Pico de la Aguilica. Beyond the coastline, the town centre attracts tourists with its Mediterranean cuisine and historical landmarks. Aguilas wasn’t the only Murcia destination recognised. Mazarron, another Costa Calida favourite, secured fourth place in the rankings. The region’s growing reputation is expected to bring even more visitors to its scenic boat tours and coastal sights.

The top ranking puts Aguilas in the spotlight as a must-visit for boat enthusiasts. Its mix of ideal sailing conditions, beaches and history sets it apart. With more attention likely to follow, the town’s tourism sector could see a further boost in the coming months.
