Bergzoo Halle Unveils Easter Magic with Pirates, Elephants and Spring Blooms
Spring Has Sprung at Bergzoo Halle
When the first warm rays of sunshine transform Reilsberg Hill into a radiant sea of color, one thing is certain: spring has arrived at Bergzoo Halle. Just in time for Easter, the zoo dons its finest festive attire, drawing visitors with a special blend of flora, fauna, and whimsical decorations. The zoo will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last entry at 5:00 PM) through April 12, 2026. Standard admission fees apply.
A Feast for the Senses
Visitors strolling through Bergzoo these days will find themselves immersed in a breathtaking ocean of blooms. Thanks to the meticulous planting of countless flowerbeds and planters, Reilsberg Hill bursts back to life. But it's not just the spring flowers capturing attention—the zoo's decoration team has lovingly crafted the annual "Fantastic Easter World." Scattered throughout the park are enchanting and often playful displays, creating the perfect backdrop for family outings and building excitement for the Easter holiday.
Playtime and a Farewell to the Gentle Giants
Young visitors, in particular, have plenty to explore. Alongside the ever-popular Easter Express, the new pirate ship playground "Humboldt's Little Rascals Point" is sure to light up children's faces with delight.
Yet one highlight of this Easter break is a visit to the elephant enclosure—one of the last chances to see the herd in their familiar home before their move to Berlin. The star of the show is undoubtedly Simon, the two-year-old bull elephant, whose youthful exuberance keeps both his sisters and the audience thoroughly entertained.
Up Close with the Animals
The mild weather has coaxed the zoo's other residents out of their winter retreats as well. Whether at the popular keeper-led feedings or during direct Q&A sessions with animal care staff, visitors gain fascinating insights into daily zoo life and witness the animals brimming with springtime energy.
After a leisurely walk across the hill, several spots invite guests to rest and recharge. Whether it's a refined meal at the mountain terrace restaurant, a refreshing drink in the picturesque beer garden with its panoramic city views, or a cozy snack at the picnic area in Reilsalmhof farm—every taste and appetite is catered to.
