Sochi gears up for record tourist season with upgraded beaches and stricter rules

Sochi has completed preparations for its busiest tourist season yet. All 73 beaches in the city have been inspected and equipped with standardised facilities. Mayor Alexey Bogodistov stressed the importance of thorough infrastructure upgrades to handle the growing number of visitors. The municipality has ensured every beach meets the same standards. Equipment, service points, and even staff uniforms now follow a uniform design. Special attention was given to accessibility, with facilities installed for visitors with limited mobility.

Kabardinka District leads with 24 fully prepared beach zones—the highest in the region. Meanwhile, Pshada District’s three remote beaches continue to attract tourists despite their secluded location. In Divnomorsk District, readiness levels have reached 80%.

Bogodistov highlighted ongoing concerns about the appearance of local cafés and shops. He also criticised excessive advertising signs, calling them visual clutter. To maintain order, evening patrols along Arkhipo-Osipovka’s promenade will increase, with police, Cossacks, and local officials working around the clock.

With over 410,000 tourists already visiting this year, municipal services are expanding their teams and acquiring new equipment. The goal is to keep public spaces clean and well-maintained throughout the season. The city has upgraded its beaches and public areas to accommodate rising tourist numbers. Enhanced patrols and standardised services aim to improve visitor experience. Officials will continue monitoring infrastructure and addressing issues as they arise.
