Torrevieja U3A visits and donates to Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre
Members of Torrevieja U3A recently visited the Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre in Rojales. The non-profit group toured the shelter and learned about the animals rescued from neglect and abuse. Their visit also included a donation to support the centre’s ongoing work. The Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre has provided refuge for nearly 200 animals since its founding in 2008. Currently, over 120 horses, donkeys, and ponies receive care there, many saved from abandonment or mistreatment.
Torrevieja U3A, a non-profit organisation in Alicante, regularly arranges charity events for its members. Their latest trip allowed them to see the centre’s facilities firsthand and hear stories of the rescued animals. This was not their first contribution—the group has frequently donated to the shelter in the past. During the visit, members explored the centre and met some of the animals. Their latest donation will help fund food, medical care, and rehabilitation for the rescued creatures.
The donation from Torrevieja U3A will assist the centre in maintaining its operations. With over 120 animals still in need, the shelter continues to rely on community support. The visit strengthened the bond between the charity and its long-time supporters.
