Irene Matys Brings Cypriot Flavors to Joseph Brant Museum's eat make share Series

The Joseph Brant Museum is running a monthly speaker series called eat make share, showcasing Canadian cookbook authors. On May 26, 2026, the event will welcome Irene Matys, a World Gourmand Award-winning and Globe and Mail bestselling author. She will discuss her latest work, My Cypriot Table, and the family traditions that shaped her cooking. The evening begins at 6pm, when the museum opens for guests to explore the special exhibit eat make share: a taste of immigration. At 7pm, Matys will take the stage for a presentation and live recipe demonstration. Light refreshments will be served during the event.

Attendees can purchase signed copies of Matys’ cookbook directly from her or at the museum’s gift shop. The series is designed for food lovers aged 12 and older, offering a mix of culinary storytelling and hands-on experience.

The event combines a museum visit, a cooking demonstration, and a chance to meet a celebrated author. Tickets include admission to the exhibit, the talk, and refreshments. Organisers aim to highlight the cultural connections between food, heritage, and community.
