Kazakhstan's Museums Open Free for a Night of Art, Tech, and Tradition

Kazakhstan’s museums are preparing for a special evening of free access and cultural events. On the night of May 18, 2026, visitors can explore exhibitions, enjoy performances, and take part in interactive activities. The celebrations will mark International Museum Day with a mix of tradition and innovation. The National Museum of Kazakhstan will host a unique performance featuring violinist Nazym Mustafinova. She will share the stage with a humanoid robot and a bionic robotic dog, blending live music with advanced technology.

Across the country, museums will open their doors without charge. The National Central Museum is also growing its collections through the 'Gift to the Museum' initiative, encouraging public contributions. Visitors can experience nighttime tours, theatrical shows, and multimedia projects designed to bring history to life. A dedicated section will highlight ethnic culture, offering traditional crafts, national games, and late-night tea ceremonies inside a yurt. The event aims to engage all ages with a mix of heritage and modern creativity.

Free admission on May 18 allows everyone to join the celebrations. Museums will stay open late, providing access to exhibitions and performances. The night promises a mix of art, technology, and Kazakh traditions for all attendees.
