Bonaire, a top scuba diving destination in the southern Caribbean, is now more accessible for travellers. A new award deal offers flights from Miami to the island for as little as 7,500 points one-way. The promotion runs from May 2026 through March 2027, making it easier to explore the region’s famous coral reefs and clear waters. The deal applies to the only nonstop U.S. flight from Miami (MIA) to Bonaire (BON), operated by American Airlines. Passengers can book economy seats for 7,500 Alaska Atmos Rewards points or American Airlines AAdvantage miles, plus $18.10 in taxes and fees. Business class options are also available, with up to nine seats in economy and eight in business per flight.
Bonaire sits just north of Venezuela and is known for its easy shore diving. Dozens of dive sites are reachable directly from the beach, attracting divers from around the world. The island’s vibrant reefs and underwater clarity make it a standout destination. For those outside Miami, connections from other U.S. cities are possible for little to no extra cost. Some routes may require a few thousand additional points, but availability remains wide open for the promotion period.
