Yakutsk will host the Polus. Golden Season festival of contemporary art from May 25 to 31, 2026. The event brings together modern Russian creativity and Yakutian traditions. Organisers have planned performances, lectures, and discussions for both artists and the public.

The festival opens on May 25 with INTRO, a modern choreography performance by JokerLab. Leading dancers Vladislav Lantratov and Darya Pavlenko will take part in the show. The same day, the professional program begins, offering masterclasses and talks on Yakutian culture and current theatre trends.

On May 26, actress and director Irina Alekseeva will hold a creative meeting at the Sakha Academic Theater. Her session aims to engage local artists and share insights into contemporary stagecraft. The festival’s core theme is the dialogue between Russian contemporary art and Yakutia’s heritage. Young specialists from Siberia and the Far East will attend workshops designed to deepen their understanding of traditional customs. Respect for Yakutia’s culture remains central to all scheduled activities.

The week-long festival closes on May 31 after a series of performances and educational events. Participants will leave with new skills and a stronger connection to Yakutian traditions. The programme’s mix of modern and traditional elements reflects the region’s evolving artistic scene.
