Belarusian Traveler Conquers Every City in His Homeland Over Six Years
A Belarusian traveller has completed an unusual challenge by visiting every city in his home country. Over six years, Artyom explored 115 cities, 118 districts, and countless smaller settlements. His journey began with short train rides but eventually grew into a nationwide adventure. Artyom started his travels using local commuter trains. Later, he switched to buses and even took road trips to reach remote areas. The length of each visit depended on train timetables and how easily he could move between locations.
He documented his experiences in a blog, sharing detailed stories from each trip. However, he eventually stopped updating it, finding the process repetitive. Despite this, one of his final posts about the journey attracted over 160,000 views. Among all the places he visited, Grodno stood out as his favourite. He admired its unique atmosphere and historic architecture. He also highlighted Grodno Oblast and parts of Vitebsk Oblast as particularly memorable regions. Beyond Belarus, Artyom has travelled to ten other countries. Yet, his focus remained on exploring his homeland thoroughly. He never tracked his spending but noted that the trips cost very little.
Artyom’s six-year project covered every corner of Belarus, from major cities to small villages. His detailed accounts, though no longer updated, left a lasting record of his travels. The journey, driven by curiosity and minimal expenses, showcased the country’s diversity in a way few have attempted.
