Raffles Unveils Its First Alpine Retreat in Courchevel 1850 for 2028
Raffles Hotels and Resorts is expanding into alpine luxury with its first mountain retreat. The new property, Raffles Courchevel, will open in 2028 in the prestigious Courchevel 1850 resort. This marks the brand’s sixth European location and its second in France after the upcoming Raffles Lake Como.
The hotel is being developed in partnership with Art de Vivre, which will own and manage the site. Located in Jardin Alpin—the highest point of Courchevel 1850—it will offer 50 guestrooms and suites, many featuring private balconies and sweeping mountain views.
Guests will have access to a signature bar, a tea lounge, and two restaurants. The resort’s spa will include treatment rooms, thermal experiences, a fitness centre, and a panoramic swimming pool. Younger visitors can also enjoy a dedicated programme centred on nature, sport, and wellbeing. Courchevel 1850 is part of Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest interconnected ski area. The hotel’s 2028 opening will introduce Raffles’ signature hospitality to one of the most exclusive alpine destinations.
Raffles Courchevel will join the brand’s existing European properties in London, Warsaw, and Istanbul. The resort’s arrival reflects a growing demand for high-end alpine experiences. With its luxury amenities and prime location, it is set to become a key destination for winter travellers.
