Budget beach holidays shift as prices soar in Thailand and Greece
Travellers from Moscow looking for budget-friendly beach holidays this summer have seen big shifts in pricing. While some destinations have become far more expensive, others now offer better deals. A new analysis of all-inclusive package tours reveals where costs have risen—and where they’ve fallen. Crimea remains the cheapest domestic option for all-inclusive trips from Moscow on 6 July. It’s also the only Russian destination where prices dropped in June. Sochi and Anapa, though still affordable, have seen modest increases of 5,000 and 7,000 rubles respectively.
Abroad, Bulgaria stands out as the most budget-friendly international choice. Other destinations like Tunisia, Cyprus, Turkey, and Montenegro have also become cheaper. Meanwhile, Greece has jumped in price by 20,000 rubles, making it significantly more costly than before.
The steepest rise came in Thailand, where average costs have doubled to 159,000 rubles. Italy has also climbed by 28,000 rubles, while Spain saw a smaller increase of just 1,000 rubles. As a result, Thailand, Tunisia, Italy, and Spain now rank among the least affordable options for Russian holidaymakers. For those seeking value, Crimea, Sochi, and Bulgaria currently offer the best deals. But travellers eyeing Thailand, Italy, or Spain will face much higher costs than last year. The shifts highlight how prices for popular beach destinations can change rapidly in peak season.
