Spirit Airlines Celebrates 15 Years of U.S.-Colombia Flights with a Limited-Time Sale
Spirit Airlines is marking 15 years of flights between the U.S. and Colombia with a special anniversary sale. The limited-time offer features discounted fares for travellers flying from seven Colombian cities to Florida destinations. Bookings are open now through September 30 for trips between September 5 and November 30.
The sale applies to one-way flights from Colombia to Orlando International Airport (MCO) or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Departures must originate from one of seven Colombian cities: Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Bogota, Cali, Cartagena, or Medellin. Fares are subject to availability and require a minimum 7-day advance purchase, with no blackout dates during the promotion.
Passengers booking through Spirit’s website can take advantage of the low fares. However, as an ultra-low-cost carrier, the airline charges extra for services like carry-on bags, checked luggage, and seat selection. These costs are not included in the base fare. Members of Spirit’s Free Spirit loyalty programme will earn bonus points during this period. Roundtrip flights yield 1,500 extra points, while one-way trips add 750 points to their accounts. The airline also offers two credit cards—the Free Spirit Travel Mastercard and the Free Spirit Travel More World Elite Mastercard—with rewards of up to 3x points on eligible purchases. The premium card includes a $100 companion flight voucher as an added perk.
The anniversary promotion runs until September 30, covering travel until the end of November. Eligible flights must be booked directly through Spirit’s website, with all fares available on a first-come, first-served basis. The airline continues to operate as a no-frills carrier, meaning passengers should budget for additional fees beyond the ticket price.
